Budget 2021: Govt may spend big to push growth

It has been billed as a Budget like never before, triggering expectations that the government will open the purse strings to nurse the Covid-hit economy back onto a robust growth trajectory with a massive fiscal push. So far, the government has preferred to pursue a cautious approach, focusing on the sectors that need help. Several measures have been unveiled, the government’s borrowing limit has been increased and there has been a re-alignment of spending to get cash.
